- take a destarched potted plant
- now take a wide mouthed jar with KMnO4 crystalls in it
- put one of the leaves in it and cork it
- now put the plant In sunlight for one day
- next day take out the leaf and compare with an exposed leaf by testing the presence of starch
- we can observe the leaf which was in the bottle doesn't change its colour indicating absence of Starch
