Answer :
- In this experiment the gas is produced in the reaction of hydrogen. Zinc reacts with dilute sulphuric acid to produce hydrogen gas ( H2) and zinc sulphate.
- We can test it's presence by bringing a burning candle near the mouth of the test tube and we able to hear the pop sound. Only hydrogen gas burns with a 'pop' sound.
Reaction takes place :
H2SO4 + Zn----> ZnSO4+ H2.
