An experiment of the nature of friction and the concept of static friction  :

The nature of the frictional is force primarily when it depends on the composition of the surfaces. So, we can illustrate this a simple experiment in the case of glass. Ordinary glass tubing, even it looks clear and it will usually carry an invisible film of dirt. The air also has soaked into the surface of the glass. The absorption of gases by solids in this way which is called occlusion or adsorption.

An experimental study is conducted to measure the static friction which is the coefficient under constant normal load and different interface conditions. These are including surface roughness, dwell time, displacement of the rate, as well as the presence of the traces of lubricant and wear debris at the interface.
