Answer:

⇒Select a healthy potted plant and keep it in a dark room for 3-4 days by providing enough water to de starch the leaf.

⇒Keep half portion of a healthy leaf inside a test tube after keeping KOH petals inside the test tube.

⇒Make the arrangement airtight using vaseline .

⇒keep the arrangement in sunshine for an hour and go for starch-iodine test.

⇒Find out the result.

we can see that the part of the leaf which is inside the test tube will not turn into blue black colour due to the lack of starch and starch is not produced because there is  KOH instead carbondioxide. By this we can understand that carbondioxide is necessary for photosynthesis.

I THINK THIS IS THE ANSWER YOU LOOKING FOR.

Explanation:

To see if CO2 is needed for photo synthesis

  • Place a plant in the dark for at least 24 hours to de-starch its leaves.
  • Enclose a leaf (A) in a clear plastic bag containing soda lime solution. This leaf does not have a supply of CO2 from the air because soda lime absorbs CO2.
  • Enclose a second leaf (B) in a clear plastic bag containing some water.
  • Leave the plant with de-starched leaves in good light for 6 hours at room temperature (20°).
  • The two leaves are tested for starch use iodine.
  • Leaf A:No CO2, yellow -brown, no starch so no photosynthesis.
  • Leaf B: CO2, blue -black, starch so photosynthesis took place.
  • Therefore carbon dioxide is necessary for photosynthesis.
