By applying water to quick lime... (CaO)
It will start to generate heat and therefore it can be termed as exothermic reaction....
After forming Ca(OH)²
When we add carbon di oxide (Co²)
The Ca(OH) ²
Solution becomes milky...
If we add Co² in excessive amount....
The milkiness disappears....
HOPE THIS helps....

Answer:
Carbon dioxide reacts with calcium hydroxide solution to produce a white precipitate of calcium carbonate. Limewater is a solution of calcium hydroxide. If carbon dioxide is bubbled through limewater, the limewater turns milky or cloudy white.
