                        Budding in hydra

Aim: Show budding in Hydra.

Materials required: Prepared slides of hydra showing budding with different stages, Compound microscopes 2-4.

Procedure:

  1. Place the slides in the microscope and set them with a full moon for a clear view.

Observation: You will see a hydra in the first slide with tentacles and a smooth body. In the next slide, a small bud would be visible on the body of the hydra. That bud will now separate out and grow into a new hydra.
