so , in short , we can say that absorption is moving food into the cells after breaking down the food which is digested , while assimilation is making food part of a cell which occurs after absorption

•Nutrition is the process of taking the food inside the body and using it to produce energy.

•Ingestion, digestion, absorption, assimilation and egestion are the stages of nutrition.

•After taking the food in which is called as ingestion, the food has to be digested.

•After the digestion of the food, it has to be absorbed into the cells of the body.This process is called as absorption.

•Once the absorption is done, the cells have to utilize the food in order to produce energy.

This process of utilizing the food and producing energy is called assimilation.
