  • Bases are those substances which releases OH- ions.
  • They turn red litmus into blue.
  • They are bitter in taste.

•Acids are the substances which taste sour, are corrosive in nature and turn blue litmus to red. Acids contain H+ ions.

¤Ex:- Lemon(Citric acid) , tomato(oxalic acid)

■BASES■

•Bases are the substances which in aqueous solution , taste bitter, are slippery to touch and turn red litmus to blue. Bases contains OH- ions.

¤Ex:- Detergent, baking soda
