there are mainly three types of tenses in english. they ate:
a)present tense
b)past tense
c)future tense

present tense is again divided into four sub groups. They are:

a) present indefinite tense or simple present tense: in habitual action, universal facts, natural truth etc we use it

b)present continuous tense: it is used when and action is going on.

c)present perfect tense: it is used when an action is is just or already completed

d present present continuous tense: it is used when an action is started at a given interval and till it is going on.

past tense is again divided into four sub groups. they are:

a)past indefinite tense or simple past tense:it is used in simple past events

b)past continuous tense: it used when an action is completed but the the results is still going on

c)past perfect tense: it is used when an action is completed in the past

d) past perfect continuous tense: it is used when an action is completed earlier and result is going on

future tense are again divided into four sub groups. they are

a) future indefinitely or simple future tense:
it is use in simple future events

b)future continuous tense: it is used in in the events which were start at present

c) future perfect tense: it is used when a action is completed at a future event

d) future perfect continuous tense: it is used in the events which were start and will complete at a undefined events

Past tense is when it has already happened like I played tennis

present tense is when it is happening right now like I play tennis

Future tense is when you are going to decide what you are going to do like I will play tennis

past perfect - I had played tennis

present perfect - I have played tennis

future perfect - I will have played tennis

present continuous - I am playing tennis

future continuous - I will be playing tennis

past continuous - I was playing tennis

present perfect continuous - I have been playing tennis

past perfect continuous - I had been playing tennis

future perfect continuous - I will have been playing tennis
