The reasons for poverty in India
1)UNEMPLOYMENT
due to rise in population,there is unemployment in India.There is disguised unemployment and educated unemployment.
 -This is a reflection to poverty.

2)INCREASE IN PRICES
due to the increase in prices .they are more people who are becoming poor.

3)POPULATION
population has been rising in India at a rapid speed.this rise is because of fall in death rate and rise in birth rate.this pressure of population proves hindrance in the way of economic development.

4)NO CAPITAL
capital is needed for setting up industry ,transport and other projects.but shortage of capital results in loss.

5)LACK OF SKILLED LABOUR
lack of skilled labour is due to the lack of education and training

6)LOW RATE OF GROWTH
the growth rate of economy has been 3-7%.per capita gowth rate of economy has been very low.

7)UNDER DEVELOPED ECONOMY
the economy is under developed due to rate of growth .it is main cause for poverty.

the net national income is quite low as compared to size of population.low per capita income proves its poverty.india is one of the poorest nations.
