Concave lens is diverging lens. A diverging lens is thin in the middle and thicker at the edges. It is just opposite of concave mirror. Concave mirror is converging and concave lens is diverging.

if a lens is thinner at the centre and gradually becomes thicker towards the edges , it is a concave lens. a concave lens diverges a parallel beam of light after refraction through it .hece , it is also called a diverging lens.it is in spectales of concave lens who has short - sightedness.
