a. How is zinc obtained from sulphide and carbonate ores? Differentiate between the two
giving chemical reactions
b. What are the advantages of alloying? Name the constituents of bronze.

a) Zinc from sulphide ore - Roasting( Heating in excess air )

2ZnS. + 3O2 - 2ZnO + 2SO2

Zinc from carbonte ore - Calcination ( Heating in limited air)

ZnCO3 -- ZnO + CO2

Now,

ZnO + C -- Zn + CO

Thus Zinc is obtained.

b) To prevent metal from corrosion alloying is done.

Bronze = Copper (Cu) + Tin( Sn)
