Spandex ( elastene ) is a synthetic fibre known for its exceptional elasticity . It was invented in 1958 by chemist Joseph shivers at DuPont's Benger laboratory in Wayneseboro , Virginia . The name spandex is an anagram of the word "expands"

2 ) ARAMID -

Aramid fibres are a class of heat resistant and strong synthetic fibres . they are used in aerospace and military applications for ballistic - rated body armour , fabric and ballistic composites , in bicycle tires , marine cordage , marine hull reinforcement as an asbestos substitute .

3 )VINYLON -

Vinylon also known as vinalon , is a synthetic fibre produced from polyvinyl alcohol using anthracite and limestone as raw naterials . It was first developed in japan in 1939 . vinylon is the national fibre of North korea and it is used in majority of textiles etc .
