Answer

The respiration is a process which the cells in the body breaks down the food and some gases into simpler substances called glucose. This glucose is used as energy for all the parts of our body.

Aerobic respiration :-

\bigstar The breaking down of food into glucose and glucose into simpler substances in the presence of oxygen is called as aerobic respiration.

\bigstar Almost all the plants and animals respire by aerobic respiration.

\bigstar 'Aero' means 'air' and 'bic' means 'life'

Examples :- Humans, plants

The equation of aerobic respiration is as follows

\small \sf \leadsto Glucose \xrightarrow{presence \: of \: oxygen} Carbon \: dioxide + water + energy

Anaerobic respiration :-

\bigstar The breaking down of food into glucose and glucose into simpler substances in the absence of oxygen is called as anaerobic respiration.

\bigstar When we exercise a lot and when we are tired, to respire, the oxygen is not enough to breathe. So, we breathe anaerobically at that time.

\bigstar 'An' means 'without' 'aero' means 'air' and 'bic' means 'life'.

The equation of aerobic respiration is as follows

\small \sf \leadsto Glucose \xrightarrow{presence \: of \: oxygen} Carbon \: dioxide + water + energy

Examples :- Yeast, bacteria
