ALLITERATION: repetition of sounds for example, merry minstrelsy

PERSONIFICATION: when a lifeless thing is personified, i.e. when the thing is being talked about as a living thing. For example, and now the storm-blast came, and HE was tyrannous and strong, here he is used for lifeless Storm.

REPETITION: repeating of words or phrases. For example, water water everywhere, and all the boards did shrink; water water everywhere, nor any drop to drink.

ONOMATOPOEIA:sounds made by someone/something.

For example, it cracked and growled and roared and howled.

SIMILE: comparison using 'like' and 'as'. For example, red as a rose is she.
