Hi friend,

Your answer:

Aqua regia, literally royal water, is an extremely corrosive mixture of one part concentrated nitric acid and three parts concentrated hydrochloric acid. When freshly prepared, the mixture is usually colorless but within a few seconds, its color changes to orange.

Its specialty is that it can dissolve royal or noble metals like gold and platinum.

for gold,
Au + HNO + 4 HCl ⇌ [AuCl]− + [NO] + [HO]+ + HO

for platinum, the reaction is quite complex. here are its equations in the simplified form:-

Pt (s) + 4 (NO) (aq) + 8 H (aq) → Pt₄⁺ (aq) + 4 NO (g) + 4 HO (l)

3Pt (s) + 4 NO
₃⁻ (aq) + 16 H (aq) → 3Pt₄⁺ (aq) + 4 NO (g) + 8 HO (l)

Pt₄⁺ (aq) + 6 Cl⁻ (aq) → PtCl₆²⁻ (aq)

Hope it helps!

Hi
Bro do you think aqua regia is complex
make it easier
Aqua regia is a mixture of three parts of conc.HCl and One part of conc.HNO3 which produces nitrous chloride ,water and a NASCENT CHLORINE which reacts with the Noble and unreactive metals and eventually dissolves them.
Aqua regia
3HCl +HNO3 --->NOCL + 2H2O + 2Cl]
conc. conc. nitrous. NASCENT
chloride. CHLORINE

you had seen the dissolving of platinum complex
now go for simple
When It reacts with the mixture of Aqua Regia
IT JUST REACTS With THE NASCENT CHLORINE AND NOTHING ELSE!!!
Pt + 4[Cl] --->PtCl4

in case of Au
Au + 3[Cl] --->AuCl3

ITS NOT THAT DIFFICULT AS YOU THINK
HOLE IT HELPS
If you don't believe you can check in internet that it's PtCl4
PtCl6 is there but not widely known and also is much complex
