When the memory is stored in RAM , it needs to be continuous to be retrieved easily.
( Only in Contegious memory storing).
This leads to the wastage of frames which are though present , but can't be used due to the reason that they r not continuous.
This is called as external fragmentation.
This problem has been solved by the storage of processes in Non - Contegious way.
