Froath floatation is a process used for concentration of sulfide ores.

The basic principle behind this process is the varying wetting characteristics of different matters.

In this process air is bubbled through the the mixture. ore particles are preferentially wetted by oil and it floats on top in the form of froth.

The impurities called gangue settle at the bottom.
