Joysagar tank was the first and the largest man-made pond which was built by king Ahom in India. It occupies the area of 318 acres and a height of 14 feet.

He made the pond in the memory of his mother Sati Joymoti, wife of Gadapani, later King Gadadharsingha (1681-1695). It is a beautiful pond and always filled with water up to a height of 14 feet.
