Answer

the word latent means hidden solar latent heat means the hidden heat energy which is supplied to the particular object or matter to change its state of matter for example there is a latent heat of evaporation and latent heat of fusion.

Latent heat of evaporation

in latent heat of evaporation there is a water in a beaker and we provide heat to the water from the flame and for the some time the temperature will not rise because whatever the heat we are providing to the water is used by the force of attraction present between the particles of liquid and when the particle get over come from the force of attraction of liquid then they will start converting into vapour and then the temperature will rise.

Latent heat of fusion

in latent heat of fusion we provide heat to the solid particles such as ice and the same phenomena will happen for the sometime the temperature will not rise because whatever the heat we are providing to the eyes that heat is get used to come from the force of attraction present between the solid particles of Ice and after sometime when the particles get overcome from the force of attraction of ice then the temperature will raise and the solid particle get converted into liquid.

hope this will help you dear
