●Limiting reagent:-It is defined as a substance ,that completely get consumed when the chemical reaction is complete.
And the product formed ,is limited by this reagent ,and reaction is not possible without limiting reagent.
FOR EXAMPLE:-
C+O------>CO
1 mol +1mol------->1 mol

The reactant which reacts completely in the reaction is called limiting reactant. For example :-
2H2 + O2 ------> 2H2O
4g. 32g. 36g
3g of H2 require O2 = 32÷4×3= 24g
Thus, O2 is present in excess . Hence , H2 is the limiting reactant .
