➢ Ohm's Law

Ohm's law in the same circuit means, by a certain conductor current with this conductor across a voltage proportional to this conductor with resistance inversely proportional. This law was proposed by the paper "Determination of the Law of Metal Conduction" published by the German physicist George Simon Ohm in April 1826.

With the progress of the research circuit work, people gradually realized the importance of Ohm 's law, Ohm's own reputation has also greatly improved. To commemorate Ohm ’ s contribution to electromagnetics , the physics community named the unit of resistance Ohm , which is represented by the symbol Ω .

➢Definition

  • In the same circuit, the current through a conductor is proportional to the voltage across the conductor and inversely proportional to the resistance of the conductor. This is Ohm's law.

I \:  \alpha  \:  V \\ I =  \frac{V}{R}

Note The unit of physical quantity in the formula:

  • I (current)'s unit is ampere (A)
  • V (voltage)'s unit is volt (V)
  • R (resistance)'s unit is ohm ( Ω ).
