rectification is the conversion of alternating currentto pulsating direct current.

Full-wave rectification converts both polarities of the input waveform to direct current, and is more efficient. The smoothing reactors are provided to remove the AC ripple which is left over from the rectification cycle. Rectificationis the conversion of alternating current to pulsating direct current.

Rectification is a process by which an alternating current is made usable for a direct current requirement. Thus by rectification alternating current is converted to direct current using equipment known as a
rectifier.
