Some non-green plants live on dead and decaying plants and animals,and derive their food from them.Examples are monochrome,fungi,mushroom and bacteria.They secrete digestive juices on dead and decaying matter.This converts the solid matter into liquid.They then absorbs the nutrients from this liquid.This method of getting nutrients from dead and decaying matter is known as saprophytic nutrition.
