Hi friend !!
In the Deccan and central India, the mauryas were succeeded by the satavahanas after a gap of 100 years. The satavahanasare also called the andhras. The satavahanas extended their power over, Karnataka and Andhra. Their competitors were the shakas who had established their power in the deccan and the western India.

Gautamiputra Shatakarni ( 106-130 AD ) was the greatest ruler of the satavahanas. He defeated the shakas and extended the empire up to Karnataka. The satavahanas rulers were known as Lords of the Dakshinapatha. The
satavahana rulers encouraged trade. They traded with Roman empire. They issued coins of gold, silver, and copper. The satavahanas worshipped hindu gods and performed vedic sacrifices, they also promoted buddhism, by giving gifts to the buddhist monks.

The satavahanas built many rock-cut temples and monasteries. They constructed buddhist stupas at Nagarjunakonda and Amravati in Andhra region. They were great patrons of art and literature.

Hope this helps you!!
