Soil Pollution :
Soil pollution is the contamination of soil by toxic chemicals and materials. It is a major environmental concern today.
It occurs due to human activities such as the overuse of chemical fertilisers and pesticides as well as the disposal of non-biodegradable waste, industrial waste, and untreated garbage.
Such pollutants reduce soil quality and negatively affect the organisms living in the soil.
Steps to reduce soil pollution :
Unfortunately, the lack of awareness about the harmful effects of soil pollution makes matters worse. Each one of us can take small steps to
help prevent soil pollution, such as
Throwing garbage in dustbins.
Not using chemicals and pesticides can help reduce soil pollution.
We must also spread awareness about its harmful effects.
