Explain about the energy resource Petroleum in simple words (class 10)

The remains got buried under the sand and silt there.In the absence of oxygen, presence of high temperature and pressure, they got converted into petroleum and natural gas which got trapped between the porous layers of the rocks. As natural gas is lighter, it appears above petroleum and both can be extracted by drilling into the rocks.
