In modern times , man is so obsessed with the thought of being healthy that he does a number of things to keep fit and to build his body.Leacock gives the example of one sightings who took hot showers followed by cold showers, did different exercises at all times of the day and stood near the window for long hours to get fresh air.But this rigid routine did not serve any purpose , as Jiggins died at a young age.This, according to Leacock , it the plight of most men in the modern age.There are many who spend time dong virus exercises.They curb their appetite for good food and go to great length to follow every health fad.Ofcoirse ,after all this trouble they die like anyone else!!
Leacock has an answer for all this He suggests that man give up his obsession for good health and body building and instead live life the way he wants.One should feel free to eat whatever one wants,the only hindrance being the affordability of the food! One should not be afraid of bacteria but learn to face the germs squarely in the face.As for fresh air and exercises we just need to keep the windows open and hire others to sweat it out for us!
