rich peasents: the jats of uttar pradesh and the patidars of gujarat wanted reduction of revenues as they had been hard hit by the falling prices and trade reduction, hence they took part in the non cooperation movement.
poor peasents: for the poor peasent they didnt just want reduction of revenue but the unpaid rent to be remitted as well. but their relationship with congress was uncertain as congress didnt want to upset the landlords.
- they broke forest laws
- unpaid taxes such as chaukidari tax

Peasants of Awadh:
1. Talukdars and landlords posed high rent on land and variety of cesses.
2. Various taxes also were implemented on them.
3. Peasants had to do begar and work at landlord's farm without any payment.
4. They had no right over leased land.
Cess: a tax.
Hope this helps!!☺
