Watan jagirs:

  • Watan jagirs were prevalent during the Rajput rule. They are primarily the tax collectors, who collected taxes from the common people and handed over to mansabdars who in turn handed them over to the concerned authorities.
  • During the Mughal Empire, many Rajput ruled served as puppets to Mughals and in turn awarded 8 high positions. Rathores of Bikaner, Tomars of Gwalior, Bhatia of Bundelkhand, Jhala of Kathiawar were some of the notable Rajput empires in India.
