Answer:

We know that in a non-uniform motion velocity of objects us different at different instants of time and this change in velocity is described in terms of its acceleration. Acceleration is defined as the rate of change of velocity with time. Now if the velocity of object is changing by equal amount then the acceleration of object is uniform but what will happen if it is moving with variable acceleration i.e. the velocity of object is not changing by equal amount and in that case , we calculate the average acceleration. The average acceleration ā over a time interval is defined the change of velocity divide by the time interval in which that change occured.

SI Unit of acceleration is m/s^2.

\huge\underline\red{Acceleration}

  • Acceleration (symbol: a) is defined as the rate of change (or derivative with respect to time) of velocity.

  • It is thus a vector quantity with dimension length/time².

  • In SI units, acceleration is measured in meters/second² using an accelerometer.
