Conduction is the transfer of heat from object to another.
It has been observed that the heat gets transferred from the hotter object to the colder object.
• Take a strip of iron and put wax on it at regular interval points.
• Fix one end of the strip to a clamp
• Heat the other end of the iron strip.
You will observe that as the end being heated becomes hotter, it gradually transfers heat to the other end. This is proven by the melting of the wax pieces placed at intervals. This is because conduction of heat is taking place.
