Answer:The earth have atmosphere and it have different layers of atmosphere with are at different optical densities. When any light passes through it bends and this phenomenon is called atmospheric refraction.

Explanation:

• When the sun is actually below the horizon it's light enters the earth surface it gets bend at different angles and when it reaches the viewers eyes he/she gets the feeling that they  are watching sun but actually the sun used to be below the horizon and this all because of atmospheric refraction.

• The same thing happens at sunset also. This is because we used to see the sun 2 minutes earlier the actual sunrise and 2 minutes later the actual sunset, this means that our day becomes 4 minutes longer.
