An adverb tells us more about a verb. It tells us how a thing is done, when it is done,where it is done.
Examples :-
- She sings loudly. (loudly describes how she sings?)
- We are going for a picnic tomorrow. (Tomorrow tells us when the action is going be performed)
An adverb also qualifies an adjective.
Examples :-
- The chair looks fairly sturdy. (fairly qualifies sturdy)
- The picnic with all family members was truly enjoyable. (truly qualifies adjective enjoyable)
An adverb qualifies another adverb.
Examples :-
- He was driving very fast. (very qualifies fast)
- The teacher guided her, so Meena works more carefully (more qualifies carefully)
