The Sangam Age was the period of history of ancient Tamil Nadu and Kerala and parts of Sri Lanka (then known as Tamilakam) spanning from c. 6th century BCE to c. 3rd century CE. It was named after the famous Sangam academies of poets and scholars centered in the city of Madurai.

Hello :)

The Tamil Sangam Period was very old than the existing Sangam period. if Thiruvalluvar period had calculated correctly we would have announced the correct period of Sangam Age but Thiruvalluvar period was fully wrong calculations. Above 52 Tamil poets mentioned Thiruvalluvar it was mentioned in Thiruvalluva malai book (AD 10th century)

To calculate the real Sangam period we have some proves :

1.Sangam Poet kapilar songs (mentioned 49 generations of Velir dynasty).

2.king of Kalingam karavelan’s inscription (Three Tamil dynasties had been governed for 13 Centuries). it was mentioned in his inscription.

3.Pandiyan dynasty. (Above BCE 650) it was given According to oldest literature of Sri Lanka ‘mahavamsam’.

4.words of saint thiruvalluvars kural.

5.Rig Veda(Verbal Form) mentioned the story, customs, and life style of Indian tradition people(Dravidiyan) and palm leaf manuscripts (Before king Asoka's inscription) of those people in the BCE 10 thCentury.

6.Ambedkar mentioned whole Indians spoke only in Tamil language before 3500 years.

7.Sangam poet Mamulanar'’s(BCE 4th-3rd Century) songs about Maurya dynasty attacked Tamil Nadu.Totally 6 Sangam poets mentioned about this battle.

8.why didnt Tamil Nadu government Consider the Points from oldest literature of Sri Lanka ‘mahavamsam’

9.Sangam Poet Nakkeerar song.he mentioned three Tamil sangam periods. According to his calculation, first sangam started Above BCE 9000.

All these points had mentioned in Tamil old literatures and inscriptions.

Silapathikaram'’s period was BCE 3rd Century. But, Author of Silapathikaram like Illangovadigal who had written (included) a few old story of Tamilnadu.

Sangam period was completed in BCE 50-AD 50.Except Thiruvalluvar year ,According to existing literatures, we can provide the correct period of Tamil sangam .That is BCE 700- Ad 100. but when we calculate the above 8 points Sangam period must have flourished between BCE 1700-AD 100. (Except Tolkappium literature ,his Ancestors and sangam poet Nakkeerar songs.)

But Tamilnadu govt has given wrong calculation about sangam period between BCE 400-AD 200.

hope it helps!!

pls mark as brainliest!!
