removal of poverty has been major objectives of indian government...
all the anti poverty programmes are
1) National Rural Employment Guarantee Act: according to this act the govt. provide 100 days employment every year to every rural householdsin200 districts.. later the scheme was extended to 600 districts and one third of the proposed jobs would be reserved for women
2)National Food for Work Programme:
it was launched in 150 backward districts and is open to all rural poor who are in need of wage employment..and foodgrains are provided free of cost to the states
3) Prime minister rozgar yozana:
this programme was to create self employment for educated youth in rural as well as small towns
4)Swarnajyanti gram swarozgar yojana:
this programme was to bring all the poor people above poverty line
