In the first answer, it has used componendo and dividendo.

What it means is: if you are given a/b = c/d; then you can write:

 \frac{a + b}{a - b}  =  \frac{c + d}{c - d}

After that, it has just simplified the equation. it got cot theta = 1/√3. So tan theta = √3. we know tan 60° =√3. So we get theta as 60°.

In the aliter, it has solved by dividing the numerator and denominator by cos theta. After that, it has just solved it as a normal equation.

poojakumaresh26: what us compoendo and dividendo
poojakumaresh26: is*
TPS: Componendo-dividendo is used to simplify equations.. if you are given a/b=c/d; you can also write (a+b)/(a-b) = (c+d)/(c-d)
TPS: Or (a-b)/(a+b) = (c-d)/(c+d)
poojakumaresh26: got it...
