first whorl is the green sepal . in collectively it is known as calyx. usually there are five sepals in a flower. sepals may be free known as polysepalous or fused known as gamosepalous .
second whorl is the petal which is collectively known as corolla . they may be free known as polypetalous or united known as gamopetalous forming a tube.
third whorl is the stamen which is collectively known as androecium. each stamen consist of along filament and an anther attached to its extremity . each anther has two lobes which is further divided into two pollen sacs containing pollen grains. stamens in a flower may be in a single , double or several groups.
fourth whorl is carpel which is collectively known as gynoecium . each carpel consists of three parts that are :
1. stigma. 2. style. 3. ovary
