Answer:

a process that involves rearrangement of the molecular or ionic structure of a substance, as distinct from a change in physical form or a nuclear reaction is called chemical reaction

Explanation:

A chemical reaction is a process in which one or more substances, also called reactants, are converted to one or more different substances, known as products. ... A chemical reaction rearranges the constituent atoms of the reactants to create different substances as products.

Ans:- Types of chemical reaction

1. Combination reaction:- Reaction in which two or more reactants combined to form a single product is known as combination reaction.

Ex:- C+O2 => CO2

2. Decomposition reaction:- Reaction in which single reactants decomposes to form two or more products.

(ii). There are three types of decomposition reaction.

(iii). Ex- CaO =>∆ Ca + O2

Types:-

a. Thermolysis:- Decomposition reaction which require heat.

Ex- CaCO3 =>∆ Ca(O) + CO2

b. Photolysis:- Decomposition reaction which require light.

Ex- H2O2 =>∆ H2O + O2

c. Electrolysis:- Decomposition reaction which require electricity.

Ex- H2O =>∆ H2 + O2

3. Displacement reaction:- Reaction in which a highly reactive element displaces a less reactive element from its compound.

Ex- Fe + CuSO4 => FeSO4 + Cu

4. Double-displacement reaction:- Reaction in which mutual exchanges of ions take place.

Ex- Al2(SO4)3 + Ca(oH)2 => Al(oH)3 + CaSO4

5. Precipitation reaction:- Reaction in which precipitate gets formed.

*precipitate:- Insoluble salt.

Ex- Pb(NO3)2 + Kl => KNO3 + Pbl2

here KNO3 is precipitate.

6. Redox reaction:- Reaction in which oxidation and reduction take place simultaneously is called redox reaction.

*Oxidation:- Gain of oxygen or loss of hydrogen, electron by a substance is known as oxidation.

*Reduction:- Gain of hydrogen, electron or loss of oxygen by a substance is known as reduction.

*Oxidising agent:- Substance that loses hydrogen or gain oxygen and oxidises other.

*Reducing agent:- Substance that loses oxygen or gain hydrogen and reduces other.

7. Endothermic reaction:- Reaction in which heat is absorbed and used to cools the surroundings.

Ex:- Photosynthesis.

CO2 + H2O + sunlight => C6H12O6 + O2

8. Exothermic reaction:- Reaction in which heat is released and cause the temperature of surrounding to rise.

Ex- Respiration

C6H12O6 + O2 => CO2 + H2O + Energy

note:- Most decomposition reaction are endothermic and most combination reaction are exothermic.

9. Neutralisation reaction:- Reaction in which Acid reacts with Base to form salt and water.

Ex:- H2SO4 + NaOH => Na2SO4 + H20

here is your answer

hope it will help you
