take two objects of same surface area
say two spherical balls of same surface areas but of different masses
let ball 1 is heavier than ball2
=> m1 > m2

just DROP both of them SIMULTANEOUSLY from SAME HEIGHT and note the initial time when you dropped the ball and the time when they touched the ground..

you will notice both of the balls reach the ground at the SAME TIME .

we know that for a freely falling body,
u=initial velocity=0m/s
and t=time of fall can be calculated by:-
s= ut+1/2 a t^2
=>s= 1/2at^2
as time=t is SAME
s = displacement is also SAME
so... a is needed to be same which is g (9.8m/s^2 ) in freely falling body..
