to show that sunlight is necessary for photosynthesis

take a plant and keep it in a dark room for 2-3 days to destarch it

now take that plant and cover some part of its leaf with aluminium foil

now leave this plant in sunlight for 2-3 days

after 2 to 3 days pluck the leaf and then boil it in water so that its cell wall will break and diffusion will occur easily

now boil that leaf in alcohol named beaker a so that chlorophyll should be removed

then again boil the beaker a in another big beaker b with water in it

now take the leaf and put drops of iodine solution on it

we will observe that the part of leaf covered with aluminium foil doesn't show presence of stach in it
