Here is an easy activity to prove that light travels in a straight line.

1. Take 2 or 3 cardboard or polystyrene blocks. Punch a hole exactly in the centre and at the same place for all the blocks.

2. Place the blocks one behind the other at half hand distance such that all the holes are aligned at the same angle.

3. Now, use a torch and focus it on the centre to let the light travel through the holes. The light travels through all the central holes of the blocks and comes out of the last block and falls on the wall.

4. However, if the torch is moved aside and is focused on the opaque part of the first block, the light does not travel to the next block, as there is no hole.

This proves that the path of light does not waiver around and only travels through a straight line.
