Aim : to identify the nature of a charge

Materials required : a negatively charged gold leaf electroscope , a glass rod , silk

Procedure : 1. Rub the glass rod with the silk

2. Now touch it with the disc of gold leaf electroscope.

Observations : You' ll observe that the gold leaves repel each other. This is because the rod becomes positively charged by rubbing it with silk. Unlike charges repel . Hence the leaves repelled each other

Conclusions: Through this activity we can now identify the nature of a charge
