The growth in plant only occurs in the part where the meristematic tissue is present. Cells of meristematic tissue contains thick cytoplasm, a conspicuous nucleus and a thin cell wall and are compactly packed together. Vaculoes are usually absent in these cells. These cellsnare highly active .
