Aromatization in alkane can be brought by using Cr2O3/Al2O3 at  6000C.

This process is known as reforming.

In this reaction, one hydrogen atom is removed from each terminal carbon atom of n-hexane to form cyclohexane. This is cyclization reaction.

This is followed by the removal of three hydrogen molecules to form benzene. This is aromatization reaction.

Isomerization : The process of conversion of one isomer into other is known isomerization. Straight chain alkanes on heating with

and 35 atm pressure are converted into branched chain alkanes.

MECHANISM OF AROMATIZATION - DEFINITION

The process of conversion of aliphatic compound into aromatic compound is known as aromatization.

Alkanes having six to 10 carbon atoms are converted into benzene and its homologues at high pressure and temperature in presence of catalyst.

Mechanism: Is given above.

PYROLYSIS - DEFINITION

The thermal decomposition of alkanes in absence of air to give lower alkanes ,alkenes, and hydrogen is called pyrolysis .
