6

Step-by-step explanation:

(1/4)+(1/6)+(1/8)=13/24

rest 11/24=33

1= (33×24)/11=72

72 students are at the learning centre.

Given - Fraction of students in different activities

Find - Total number of students

Solution - Let the total number of students be x. So, number of students take debate = 1/4x

Number of students take writing = 1/6x

Number of students take science = 1/8x

Remaining students = x - ( \frac{x}{4}  +  \frac{x}{6}  +  \frac{x}{8} )

Taking LCM, we get 24

Remaining students = x - ( \frac{6x + 4x + 3x}{24} )

Remaining students = x -  \frac{13x}{24}

Remaining students =  \frac{24x - 13x}{24}

Remaining students = 11x/24

Now, as per the question, remaining students are 33. So finding the value of x.

 \frac{11x}{24}  = 33

11x  =  33 \times 24

11x = 792

x =  \frac{792}{11}

x = 72

So, total number of students learning at centre is 72.
