Step-by-step explanation:

It works to (.20 * x grams ) + (1.00 × 6 grams) = .35 (x + 6 grams)

.20x + 6 = .35x + 2.65

Simplify

.11x = 1.0

x = 2

The value of x is 15%.

Given - Percentage of nickel alloy

Find - Value of x

Solution - As the formed alloy is made by combining the given alloys, the weight of 20% nickel alloy will be sum of the weights of individual alloy.

Total weight = 6 + 2

Total weight = 8 grams

Now, forming the equation -

20%*8 = 35%*2 + x%*6

Representing percentage in decimal form

0.2*8 = 0.35*2 + 0.01x*6

Performing multiplication of every value

1.6 = 0.7 + 0.06x

Shifting 0.6 to Left Hand Side

1.6 - 0.7 = 0.06x

Performing subtraction

0.06x = 0.9

x =  \frac{0.9}{0.06}

Performing Division

x = 15%

Hence, the value of x is 15%
