explain any 5 difference between the Buna N and and Buna S

Buna – N

1. Buna - N is a copolymer of 1, 3−butadiene and acrylonitrile. 
2. It is also called Nitrile rubber(NBR).
3. It is obtained by polymerization of 1,3-butadiene & acrylonitrile in the presence of sodium .
4.It is used for making oil seels,manufacturing of tank linings,protective gloves etc.


Buna − S

1.Buna - S is a copolymer of 1, 3−butadiene and styrene.
2. It is obtained by polymerization of 1,3-Butadiene & styrene in the ratio 3:1 in the presence of sodium.

3. In Buna –S, Bu stands for butadiene,na for sodium & S for styrene.
4. It is also called SBR(Styrene Butadiene Rubber).
5. It has slightly less tensile strength than natural rubber.
6. It is used for making automobile tyres,rubber soles,belts,hoses etc.
