Answer:

Tertiary sector includes activities of providing services to others, example - Trade, transport, communication, banking, education, health, tourism, services, insurance, etc. the four reasons which prove that tertiary sector is becoming very important in India are –

a. Tertiary sector provides such services which come under the basic needs of the people such as hospitals, educational institutions, post and telegraph services, police stations, courts, village administrative offices, municipal corporations, defence, transport, banks, insurance companies, etc. thus, it becomes important for the government to provide such services.

b. All the three sectors (Primary, secondary and Tertiary) are dependent on each other. The development of Agriculture and Industries lead to the development of services like transport, trade, storage. Thus, development of Primary and secondary sector led to the development of the Tertiary sector.

c. When the income of the individual increases, the demands for services like eating out, tourism, shopping, private hospitals, private schools, professional training etc.

d. Lately, the emergence of new services based on information and communication technology becomes very important. Thus, the use of such services led to the development of the Tertiary sector.
