it lies between east coastal plains and West coastal plains
it main features in the Black soil which also known as Deccan trap
it forms due to the breaking and drifting of the goundwana land
it consists of two board divisions namely
the center Highland of the Deccan plateue
the Deccan plateue is higher in the west slope gently eastwards.
